Сòòò½ÊÓƵ to Address Risk Based Inspection, Asset Life Extension at OTC 2016

April 18, 2016

Technical experts from Сòòò½ÊÓƵ will address the topics of Risk Based Inspection (RBI) and Asset Life Extension in a series of technical presentations taking place at booth #2816 (Hall D) on Monday, May 2, through Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas.

Gareth Burton, Director of Asset Integrity Management for Сòòò½ÊÓƵ, will present an overview of the RBI process, which focuses on optimizing offshore inspections through a risk-based approach used to evaluate the risk, consequences and likelihood of failure.

"By applying RBI techniques, asset owners can target resources where they are required and thus significantly improve operational efficiency and safety," says Tom Nolan, Vice President of Marine and Offshore at Сòòò½ÊÓƵ. "Our presentation is geared toward clients seeking a more proactive solution for enhanced decision-making with the goals of achieving lower life-cycle costs, avoiding unplanned downtime, reducing risk and increasing safety."

As many floating production installations approach the end of their design life expectancy, asset owners and operators are looking for ways to extend these units' onsite service in a safer, more reliable and compliant manner. Сòòò½ÊÓƵ will discuss the methodology it developed for owners to evaluate their assets and determine if these units can continue beyond their intended design lives.
