ABS QE Accredited to Provide ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Certification
ABS Quality Evaluations, Inc. (ABS QE) has been accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) to issue the newly released ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification. ABS QE will now be able to support organizations in successfully transitioning from ISO/IEC 27001:2013 to the newest version.
The changes to the 2022 revision include the implementation of 11 new controls, the merging of 57 controls into 24, and the renaming of 23 controls, among others. The new controls include: Threat Intelligence, Information Security for Cloud Services, Web Filtering, Data Leakage Prevention and Secure Coding.
ISO 27001, first published in 2005, was designed to help establish, implement, maintain and continually improve an organization’s Information Security Management System (ISMS). It has since been the choice criterion for businesses striving to improve their information security and protect essential data. The standard was revised in October 2013 to keep up with technological advancements and received its most recent revision on October 25, 2022, for the same reason.

Organizations certified under the 2013 version of ISO 27001 will have until October 31, 2025, to transition to the new revision. After this date, the remaining ISO 27001:2013 certificates will be withdrawn and deemed expired. New certification applicants have until April 30th, 2024, to continue being audited against the 2013 revision of ISO 27001.
