LNG as Marine Fuel - Trends and Technology

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) as a marine fuel is a solution to help reduce the emissions footprint of global shipping. However, ship owners and operators have been slow to adopt the technology since the first non-LNG Carrier gas fueled ship began operation 20 years ago in Norway. The current LNG fueled fleet is now approaching 400 ships on the water by 2021. With design, construction and crew training rules well established, nearly a decade of operational experience accumulated and emissions regulations set to tighten even more from 2020 to 2050, owners are expressing greater interest in adopting LNG fuel to support their IMO 2020 compliance and GHG reduction strategy.

This webinar examines the current fleet development, explores perspectives and lessons learned over the last 60 years of LNG fuel operation. Attendees such as ship owners, charterers, port authorities and other maritime stakeholders' will hear practical technical information for decision support and implementation of LNG marine fuel into their fleet and marine operations. In addition, you'll learn more about ABS' experience with the global LNG carrier fleet – from the "first" LNG fueled ships over the last six decades to more recent experience in leading-edge LNG fueled ship design, construction, techno-economic analysis, crew training and technology advancement.

Presenter Robert Kamb, Сòòò½ÊÓƵ Manager of LNG Services, will share insights based on nearly 40 years of experience in LNG shipping and his connection with the majority of LNG fueled ship projects in North America.

The information in this webinar forms the basic foundation of LNG marine fuel, safety, risk management, regulatory compliance and technical consulting advice provided to Сòòò½ÊÓƵ's clients.
