ISO 55000: How Municipal Utilities Can Benefit from the Asset Management Standard

October 17, 2018 | 10:00 am CDT

ISO 55000 Asset Management for Municipal Utilities

Many existing municipal utilities in North America are challenged with aging infrastructure and limited revenues. In a recent Municipal Electric Utility Asset Management Survey, 13 percent of those surveyed were interested in becoming ISO 55000 certified and six percent confirmed they are certified. The benefits of ISO 55000 asset management implementation are well documented. These include better management of risk, the breakdown of organizational silos with increased alignment around asset lifecycle management, structured training and retention of key skills, and effective prioritization of your investment documentation for key processes and procedures.

Whether municipal utility owners have obtained ISO 55000 certification or not, this webinar provides an essential overview of ISO 55000 good asset management practices.
