April 8, 2020 | 9:00 - 10:00 am CDT

IMO 2021 Cyber Risk Management Guidelines - What to know and how to comply

The cyber threat landscape continues to evolve, requiring new capabilities in cyber risk management (CRM). To support ship owners and operators with CRM, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) recommends developing a comprehensive set of security measures that span across your operations.

IMO's 2017 Resolution encourages organizations to address cyber risk in a safety management system (SMS) no later than the first annual verification of the company's Document of Compliance after 1 January 2021. Compliance to meet the IMO Cyber Risk Management Guidelines will require assessing, identifying and developing the set of risk-based security measures appropriate to manage cyber risks.
