CalARP Seismic Assessment and Revalidating Guidelines 1

March 30, 2017 | 10:00 - 11:00 am CDT

Cal/ARP Seismic Assessment and Revalidating Guidelines

To reduce the risk of release of regulated substances as a result of earthquakes, the State of California requires facilities that contain large quantities of regulated substances to comply with the Accidental Release Prevention (CalARP) program by means of reoccurring seismic evaluation of the regulated substance containing facility. CalARP studies are typically revalidated at five-year intervals.

The 2013 CalARP guideline requires that the new seismic evaluation method be based on the current International Building Code and ASCE 7-10 standards. Current regulations have specific prescriptive minimum required content and a general format of the report for new and revalidating reports.

This webinar will cover the CalARP seismic assessment and revalidating guidelines for facilities containing regulated substances. We will discuss new templates for the CalARP walk down review of vessels, equipment, piping and containment, as well as the ductility based approach for structures supporting vessels or equipment.
