Continual Improvements in Facilities Around the World
ISO 45001 –Implementing Best Practices for Health and Safety
Borouge wanted to strengthen their Occupational Health and Safety Management System. The organization was already executing its operations in line with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company Code of Practices (ADNOC CoPs) but was seeking additional certification from an independent third party and selected ABS QE.
As a result, Borouge implemented ISO 45001 in Singapore and Abu Dhabi locations. This standard provides a framework to help control, identify and decrease the risks associated with health and safety within the workplace while boosting performance. This demonstrated Borouge's commitment to maintaining a safe workplace at plants and offices worldwide.
ISO 9001:2015 –A Successful Quality Management System Transition
In a commitment to its organizational growth, Borouge transitioned its management system from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015, the latest revision to the quality standard. The audits, completed by ABS QE, were performed at various Borouge locations, including Abu Dhabi, China, Singapore and India.
Achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification (and remaining certified to the ISO 9001 standard since 2002) played a pivotal role in Borouge exceeding stakeholder expectations. It supports their commitment to meet their customers' quality requirements, enhance satisfaction and seamlessly apply all relevant regulatory requirements.
ISO 14001 and RC14001® –A Value-Added Approach to Operations in the Chemical Industry
The implementation and certification to ISO 14001 and RC14001® standards included the head offices of Borouge in Abu Dhabi and Singapore, the Company's petrochemicals manufacturing facility in Ruwais and its compounding manufacturing plant in Shanghai.
ISO 14001 sets up an effective environmental management system that helps organizations, like Borouge, to reduce consumption and cut costs while increasing environmental stewardship. RC14001® supports the continuous improvement in safe chemicals management and excellence in environmental, health, safety and security performance.
